The Annual Apple Pie Jamboree (APJ) in the Okanogan Highlands is an event on July 14, 15 & 16.The apple pie Jamboree has been a long time town tradition. The Apple Pie Jamboree is better than ever with tons of events, fun, friends and family! The apple pie jamboree also includes an annular Jet Ski races on the Columbia River, the Ray Stanley Memorial Bass Tournament, and Samaritan Riders Benefit. This is just one event out of hundreds of events and a few tourist attractions, but it also brings ton of people from all around. Also this is a time to relax and have fun, so go crazy(not literally). These events are beautiful..
Next up is the Jamboree Jog! A beautiful 3.1 mile or 5k race around scenic Pateros. And believe me when I say it is beautiful! Start the day off right with some competition and exercise. Signup online or prior to event, 6:30 a.m., July 15th. Medals will be awarded in all divisions.
Next up to the plate is the JetSki Races, On both Saturday and Sunday The Apple Pie Jamboree features some of the world's best Jet Ski racers and freestylers in the world. Watercross racers will take to the Columbia River on a closed, near-shore buoy course that features sharp turns and high-speed stretches. Watch as racers make exciting passes and dramatic finishes just yards away. If you're not into racing, several of the region's top freestylers will be on hand to demonstrate barrel rolls, the cowboys, flips and more. Freestylers will also be participating in a Big Air contest, launching skis high into the air for backflips and other stunts. Racing and freestyle events will take place Saturdays and Sundays. Riders will be competing for national points and a chance to earn a berth to the World Finals. Come meet the competitors during the Jet Ski Racer Party, beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, at SweetRiver Bakery.
We also have the Ray stanley Memorial Bass Tournament , With an entry fee of $100 per team plus $20.00 entry per team for the big fish pots. Pay-out is 75% of entry fee. It is fun for anyone who loves to fish. There will be a Drivers Meeting at 4:30 am. Awards are made for 1st place per 5 boats, and there are 2 Big Fish Pots with 100% pay-out. Local merchants have donated participation gifts for every boat entered. Even if you don’t win, it is still a great experience!
If you like parades, then you should come to the Downtown Parades, Our parade is always memorable with much fun! We have Horses, collector cars, carriages and more! This event begins at 9:00 am Saturday morning. The parade begins at 10:30 am. Come have some fun!
Last but not least there are the is Quilt show, kid games, and the Pateros H.S. Seniors host an annual KFC dinner. We highly recommend that you come and visit our wonderful jamboree.
